Accent Electronic is implementing "Internet for Mazovia"
Accent Electronic signed a contract with Korean GNS company for telecom infrastructure development of Mazovia region, Poland. "Internet for Mazovia" project represents a construction of a fiber optic network of 1024 km in length, which will provide the access to broadband Internet for all residents of the region. The company will be installing the network for two years.
To achieve this goal, the branch «Accent Electronic Poland" was opened in Warsaw, which has already signed a number of contracts for the designing with local companies. A smaller volume of project works is carried out by experts designers who were selected from Chisinau and received work visas in Poland. The general contractor of the project is the Polish-Korean consortium led by KT Corporation.
This project – is the largest of all projects ever financed by the European Union in Poland. Besides, it is the largest project of its kind in Europe.
"Currently, access to the Internet is an absolute necessity. Without it we cannot talk about equal opportunities for people in cities and villages. 82% of cities in the region do not have access to the Internet or it is limited. This problem affects almost every resident of the region. I hope thanks to this project by the end of 2015, 95% of our citizens and 100% of public and private companies will have access to broadband Internet, "- said Adam Struzik, Marshal of Mazovia region.
